It is our great pleasure and honour to host the NSPC&NNGCP 2015 in Tartu, Estonia – the town with one of the oldest universities in Northern Europe. Estonia has been closely cooperating with Nordic countries in introduction and development of training and research initiatives in healthcare and different fields of pharmacy. It gives us a good reason to welcome you on the Eastern shore of the Baltic Sea.
The NSPC has been a biennial conference for students, young and experienced scientists in the field of social pharmacy and health services research in the Nordic countries since 2004. For the second time the NSPC will be held jointly with the NNGCP. We are convinced that close cooperation of healthcare, social and clinical pharmacy fields serves as a basis for better patient care.
Besides the numerous representatives from the academia, the NSPC&NNGCP 2015 would like to involve more participants from professional organisations and institutions dealing with health care, medicinal products and pharmacy practice to give a good platform for the meeting of theory and practice.
The NSPC&NNGCP 2015 is focused on patient care and the role of specialists in pharmacy and healthcare in contributing more efficiently to this process. We emphasize the complex approach of INNOVATION-INTEGRATION-INDIVIDUALISATION in presenting, describing and discussing the topics related to professional education, operating and planned IT solutions in healthcare, integration of social and clinical aspects in pharmacy for the well-being of patients, evidence based practice of pharmaceutical care, pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical policy and sustainable development of healthcare systems.
The NSPC&NNGCP 2015 work format is a combination of plenary lectures, short presentations of research topics, workshops and poster presentations. There are awards for the best oral and poster presentations. All accepted abstracts will be published in the special issue of the International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy.
In addition to the scientific programme, we have prepared a number of surprises in order to fill the light evenings of June with practical introduction into the historical ways of university life which have become almost extinct in its source - Germany, but have survived and flourish in the remote Tartu... They deserve to be discovered by personal experience.
For those, who can spend an additional and adventurous day in the mystical land of South-Estonia, we have prepared a special tour of visiting the herbal and natural healers in the villages and observing some very ancient traditions still alive in this very special area – off the beaten track of usual tourist routes.
The NSPC&NNGCP 2015 and Tartu welcome the participants from the Nordic countries and all around the world!
